Here's A Quick Post on a Great WSJ Article

I just finished reading a compelling article in the Wall Street Journal about why it's important to always look your best, and honestly, it put a different spin on things. (the article can be found here: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303901504577462413753945058.html?mod=WSJ_LifeStyle_Lifestyle_6). I have never thought of dressing in terms of showing respect to other people, but after ready this article, I believe that the writer has solidly hit the mark. I live in a blue collar, semi rural suburb of Houston. As several of my intimate friends can tell you, I have, on occasion, commented on the total lack of care that some of my neighbors put into their appearance. It borders on  ridiculousness.
Now, before this devolves into a rant, let me say that I understand that different people cultivate different looks. I have no issue with a biker for example, wearing his colors and a Harley Davidson t-shirt. Quite frankly, that is a particular look that they are cultivating, and to do so requires putting a reasonable amount of care into your appearance. Honestly, I know quite a few bikers, being that I own a Harley myself, and I ride with a motor cycle ministry as a patched in member. Same goes for hip hop fans or western wear fans or whatever the case may be. What does drive me over the edge are slobs. In particular, in my little town, or the men who think that having sleeves on your shirt is somehow an affront to someone. Honestly, the only affront you are committing is forcing me and everyone around you to see your sweaty armpits every time you lift your arms.
So, back to the article. I hope everyone gets a chance to read it. No matter what look you are going for, remember, as a matter of respect for your fellow man, you should try to look your best when you go out. And also keep in mind, to earn respect you must give it...
